Amy S.

Test Preparation Specialist: English and Reading
ACT, SAT, PSAT, HSPT, ISEE

Amy is no stranger to leading one-on-one tutoring sessions or to teaching in front of the classroom. She holds an M.A. in English from Cleveland State University, as well as a B.A. in English and a minor in Communication Studies from Baldwin-Wallace College.

Amy currently teaches teachers as the Literacy Coach for a school (grades 6-12) in Lorain. During her first year there, Amy wrote and was awarded an Ohio Department of Education literacy grant to implement the school’s first cross-curricular literacy program. Though, Amy is more regionally recognized for her exceptional reputation from the years she spent as a dedicated English teacher and acclaimed director of theatre, both at her beloved alma mater: Magnificat High School. Because of these accomplishments, Amy gained the opportunity to do freelancing work as an editor and ghostwriter for two contrasting novels in 2015 and in 2016. Amy was also contracted at American Greetings Corporation to do copyediting, ghostwriting, communication, and departmental organization at its world headquarters. Amy’s energy, intellect, creativity, and expertise from guiding others in various capacities and levels, all make for an educational and enjoyable tutoring and classroom experience.

Amy is grateful to live near her three older siblings and parents, but most importantly, she cherishes the time she frequently shares with her two adorable and hysterical nieces (who obviously take after her) and her sweet baby nephew. She and her peculiar cat, Gilbert, live in Fairview Park.

Amy maintains her Secondary Education licensure. She is VIRTUS trained and BCI fingerprinted. Amy works with students in is available for tutoring on the west side of Cleveland and online using ZOOM.
