Amy Seeley

Founder/ President/ Test Preparation Specialist: English, Math, Reading and Science

Amy, a formally certified and licensed secondary-education teacher, received her B.A. in History and Secondary Education from John Carroll University.  She began her career in test preparation over 24 years ago working for Princeton Review. After gaining valuable expertise and experience within the test prep industry, she assumed the Director of Test Preparation Services role at Townsend Learning Centers, creating, managing and administering all aspects of Townsend’s test preparation programs.

After leaving Townsend in 2006, Amy began Seeley Test Preparation Services, meeting the test preparation needs of some 300 students annually. In 2012, Amy expanded Seeley Test Preparation Services into a team of instructors by creating Seeley Test Pros, including only those educators fully committed to test preparation as a profession. With the addition of expert tutors trained in the successful methods and strategies of Amy’s experience, Seeley Test Pros services now reach over 1,500 students annually in the Greater Cleveland/Akron area as well as students across the United States and abroad via FaceTime.

Amy’s knowledge of ACT and SAT test techniques is unsurpassed. Her methods and techniques for navigating through the ACT and SAT, as well as many other standardized exams, guarantee students who apply themselves and are committed to her methodology obtain higher scores.  “It takes 20 years to get as good as Amy!” writes one counselor.  “I trust her with any one of my students.” Amy has helped numerous students over the years to achieve National Merit status, be admitted to highly selective colleges and universities, as well as to be awarded lucrative scholarships based on high test scores.

Amy Smialek

Test Preparation Specialist: Reading and English

Amy is no stranger to leading one-on-one tutoring sessions or to teaching in the classroom. She holds an M.A. in English from Cleveland State University, as well as a B.A. in English and a minor in Communication Studies from Baldwin-Wallace College. Amy teaches at Lorain County Community College and is an editor for, also known as the new and improved version of

Amy is regionally recognized for her exceptional reputation from the years she spent as a dedicated English teacher and as an acclaimed director of theatre at her beloved alma mater: Magnificat High School. Amy’s energy, intellect, creativity, and expertise from guiding others in various capacities and levels, all make for an educational and enjoyable tutoring experience. 

Amy is grateful to live within twenty minutes of her three older siblings and her parents, but most importantly, she cherishes the time she frequently shares with her two adorable and hysterical nieces (who obviously take after her).

Amy continues to maintain her Secondary Education licensure, VIRTUS certification, and BCI fingerprints. She lives in Fairview Park.

Michelle Brizes

Test Preparation Specialist: English, Math, Reading and Science

Michelle, a licensed attorney, received her BA from Wittenberg University and her JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Before relocating to Cleveland, Michelle practiced law as a criminal prosecutor and civil litigator for the City of Columbus.

Michelle’s interest in tutoring and educating was developed as part of a community service project while in college. In the following years, she volunteered as a tutor in the Columbus area and was employed as a tutor for students studying for the LSAT and Ohio Bar Examination. 

Michelle was raised in Perrysburg, Ohio and is a former National Merit Scholar. She is BCI fingerprinted. She and her family live in Mentor.

Andrew Povtak

Test Preparation Specialist: English, Math, Reading and Science

Andrew is a professor of political science at Kent State University – Stark and Baldwin Wallace University.  Andrew received his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2000, a JD from Cleveland State University in 2004. and a Ph.D. in political science from Kent State University in 2011.  Andrew has been tutoring students in the Akron/Canton area for the ACT and SAT since 2007, and joined the Seeley Test Pros team in 2014.

As a political scientist and former attorney, Andrew knows what it takes to develop the critical reading, grammar, and math skills that are essential to test success and enjoys imparting that knowledge to students.

Andrew was raised in Brunswick, and currently lives in Fairlawn with his family.

Haley Seeley

Test Preparation Specialist: English, Math, Reading and Science

Haley received her BS in Political Science from Eastern Michigan University, graduating with University Honors as a Presidential Scholar, and her MA in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Bowling Green State University. Prior to moving back to Cleveland, Haley worked as a Program Coordinator within Student Activities & Leadership Development at the University of Cincinnati.

Haley began her career in higher education at Eastern Michigan University and has since worked in multiple areas of college administration, including: Admissions, Orientation, Student Activities, Leadership Programs, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Center for Multicultural Affairs, and Residence Life. During her time working with incoming and current college students, Haley discovered her passion for preparing students to enter university life. Fortunate enough to achieve high scores on the ACT and SAT to receive scholarship funding and placement in higher level Math and English courses in college, Haley understands the full benefits of test scores. She understands the preparation necessary to do well on tests, as well as providing holistic support in the college application process.

Haley is a Magnificat alumna, VIRTUS trained and BCI fingerprinted. She and her puppy Maggie currently live in Lakewood.

Benjamin Seeley

Test Preparation Specialist: English, Math, Reading, Science

Benjamin Seeley is a current student at The Ohio State University. He is a former Ignatian Scholar and National Merit Scholar at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland. At OSU, he studies philosophy with plans to attend law school after graduation.

Benjamin created his own tutoring company in his Sophomore year of high school, working with students to improve their math, reading and writing skills. A recent veteran of PSAT/SAT prep, Ben achieved a near-perfect score on all sections of the PSAT and SAT, testing in the 99.7th percentile with a 2330. In addition to PSAT and SAT success, Ben is an AP National Scholar, achieving a score of 4 or 5 on eight AP exams. Benjamin teaches all areas of the PSAT, SAT and ACT tests.

Ben lives in Lakewood when he is not on the OSU campus.

Linda Blankenship

Test Preparation Specialist: Reading and English

Linda has been working with the verbal sections of the PSAT, SAT and ACT for more than twenty years and is still learning more about these tests with each year. Building confidence and trust in students’ abilities are the two most important goals and the focus of each session. Grammar tools and critical reading strategies are Linda’s strengths.

Linda is a graduate of Miami University where she majored in speech and language pathology. This background and an extraordinary mentor gave her a unique and very developmental based approach to critical reading. She is currently writing curriculum for area English departments so that teachers can provide these important test taking tools, especially for students who are not able to prepare for theses tests outside the classroom.

Linda was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She currently resides in Avon Lake. She is BCI fingerprinted.
